Great place to meet up with friends and chat. The carvery was very tasty, and there was plenty of choice. The menu was also good for vegetarians. Plenty of parking spaces too. Would recommend.
Hadnt been to one of these for years. I needed to stay in the area and thought would give it a go.Arrived early for a 7.30 booking and it was rammed. However, had a nice Heineken and before I knew it the chap indicated a table was ready.My mate went up first and came back with a good plate of food. I just had beef and gammon with lots of vegetables. The meat was really tasty and veg was equally great along with the onion gravy. The chef was friendly and helpful, the waitress was nice and in the bar after, It was a nice friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed it and will be back soon.Paul
Always good food. The meat can be a little hit and miss at times depending on the cut of beef but the turkey is always good and the choice of meats and vegetables can be beaten for the price. Buckhurst Hill Carvery gets very busy at peak times but you can now book in advance and you can do this online or via their app which makes life a lot easier.
Got seated having booked a table. Was ignored for 15 minutes so went and got our own cutlery and proceeded to get our food. On the way back to the table, managed to get a waitress's attention and was then able to order a drink after another 5 minutes, by which time we were well into our meals. Food was good. Service appalling.
Packed to capacity for Sunday Lunch but you would expect as much from a carvery. The meat was tasty & the food was fine. Drink service at the bar was incredibly slow. Very loud and table conversations were only just possible
